Anchor Mooring Partners won a test case in the High Court on transfer pricing and the arm’s length principle.

August 2018

Anchor Mooring Partners advised a client up to financial closure of a share acquisition by shareholders exercising pre-emption rights in a beer manufacturing business.

September 2018

Anchor Mooring Partners won a labour related High Court appeal which has settled a legal principle on bilateral termination and resignations.

Anchor Mooring Partners advised a client in a tax dispute involving the taxation of profits derived by a resident of one country operating international transport services.

Anchor Mooring Partners advised an Independent Power Producer in negotiations towards completing a power purchase agreement with ESCOM.

We have won a case in the Supreme Court of Malawi which has set a new test of exposure to ruin as a threshold for stay of judgment. In this case the Supreme Court also imposes the provision of security as a measure against abuse of court process.

April 2019

We successfully pursued a High Court election petition against a decision of the Electoral Commission. An emerging legal point was the recognition of the onus of proof obligation contained in Section 37 of the Political Parties Act.

August 2019

We achieved financial closure of a $500,000 foreign investment into a Malawi company in the animal farming sector.

September 2019

We achieved financial closure of an agricultural farm takeover by a multinational operating in Malawi.
